 |
Start with Outlook open and select the TOOLS menu option. Then choose E-Mail Accounts. |
 |
The next screen will look like this one.
Make sure Add new e-mail account is selected. |
 |
Next you want to choose POP3 account |
 |
The next screen is personal information for your e-mail account. The settings should look like this. (Exact settings will come from your e-mail administrator.)
Your E-mail Address should be somthing like:
john.doe@iveracity.com
User Name:
john.doe
(POP3): mail.iveracity.com
(SMTP): mail.iveracity.com
After you have entered all the information in this box, select the “More Settings” button |
 |
From here you need to select the Outgoing Server tab. Make sure the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” checkbox is checked. |
 |
Next go to the advanced tab for the final changes.
Please note that the bottom settings for Delivery can be customized, but require that you carefully consider their use. If you leave the checkbox under Delivery unchecked, all messages will be downloaded to your computer. None will be left on the server. Alternatively, with the box checked (as shown here), your messages will be kept on the e-mail server until you delete them from “Deleted Items.” (This is somewhat like emptying the Recycle Bin on your desktop.)
If you wish to have remote access to your e-mails (for example, if you are set-up to access your e-mail on the Web), you may want to leave the "Leave a copy" box checked if you want remote access to your mail messages even after you have read them in Outlook. If this box is NOT checked, you will not have access to your messages on the Web after you have read them in Outlook.
Click on OK and then Next on the window, and YOU'RE DONE!!!!!
